Keep Your Shoes on in Shared Spaces

Kicking back in your room after a long day is a great way to relax. However, you should refrain from going out into the halls and other common spaces without shoes. It simply isn’t very hygienic and increases the chances that you’ll bring debris and all kinds of pathogens into your room and eventually your bed. Ultimately, it’s better for you and other guests to keep your shoes on outside of your room. 

Dress to Match the Hotel You’re In

Nice hotels put in a lot of work to maintain the standards you expect. You can help them develop that image by dressing in a way that reflects those standards. That doesn’t mean you constantly have to be dressed to impress. It is your vacation after all, but you should avoid wearing pajamas out to visit the concierge as a point of respect.

However, you should remember that these spaces are meant to be shared. Avoid practices that could limit space for others, including putting your feet up and spreading your things out. 

Monitor Children and Correct Inappropriate Behavior

Children are tiny feats of nature that sometimes get out of hand. We all know this, and your hotel staff will undoubtedly understand the odd outburst. What you should avoid is any destructive, harmful, or overly disruptive behavior. If your child needs a few minutes to regulate themselves, then take them outside so they can calm down at their own pace.

It shouldn’t have to be said, but we live in a complicated world.
