Light vs. Dark Countertops

  When it comes to decorating your home, there are no hard and fast rules. However, some guidelines can help you to think critically about each decision. Countertops are a prime example. Both light and dark countertops can be used to create stunning kitchens, but that doesn’t mean that either one will work for you. By paying attention to four different areas, you can practically eliminate any chance of buyer’s remorse down the line.  The Size of Your Kitchen There’s a reason you don’t see dark countertops in small, enclosed kitchens. Dark colors can make a smaller kitchen feel crowded and cramped. To give the impression of more space, it is generally best to go with light-colored countertops. Lighter colors will reflect light, whereas darker colors absorb it.
